The company was founded in 2013 in Berlin, Germany by ex-Googlers Hessam Lavi, Jan Backes and Manuel Holtz. Robin Haak joined the founding team in 2014 after meeting them through the Axel Springer Plug and Play Accelerator Programme, of which he was a co-founder. Jobspotting successfully acquired seed funding.
